Updated GCFTHA Calendar Events for 2024

Copan Lake Ride:  April 20, 2024
Gather at 8:30AM  ride out at 9:30AM – Meet at Washington Cove Parking area on N3970 Road.  Ride out at 9:30AM, Rain or Shine   Call Sam 918 914 2251 for directions or additional information – Shoes not necessary – Coggin Are necessary.
Roman Nose Spring ride:  April 26-28 (not GCFTHA Sanctioned event)
Gaited Playday Events practice/clinic/playdays Mohawk Park, Tulsa:  $20/horse / day.  Registration opens at 8- 9AM,
May 4 & May 11 – Will start each day with trail obstacles and 1 hour trail ride.  Buzzy will cook hot dogs, beans and chips for lunch, if you don’t bring your own.  Gaited practice & coaching from Noon til 2 PM    2;30pm Versatility, Reining Pattern, Barrels, Poles, Flags.  We will have designated Youth classes.
May 18 will be an official judged event based on previous playday practice sessions.  Trophies and ribbons will be awarded.
Karen Grady is MFTHBA Judge.  Overnite parking is available at Tulsa Feed parking lot.  Mohawk park does not permit overnite camping due to Tulsa City ordinance.  Gates open at 8:AM and close at 5:PM 46th Street North and Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Ok.
Proposed participant genre: Gaited only, but registry not required. “Open Gaited Classes.” Gaited mules acceptable.
MFTHBA National trail ride May 10-12th at Idle Nook Horse camp in Arkansas.  Not GCFTHA sanctioned event.
Oolagah Ride: June 15th meeting at “Blue creek Oolagah” equine campground. Buzzy will be present. Morning ride discussed due to heat.
MFTHA Celebration: first full week of September 1~7
Mohawk Park: September 21st, day ride
Cedar Lake: Oct 11-13th for founder’s ride This is a qualified MFTHBA National Trail Ride.
Okie Arkie Trail Ride  – Oct 16~20, Sallisaw, Ok (not a GCFTHA Sanctioned event)
Walnut Creek: Nov 2nd Chili Cook-off and Trail ride
Christmas Party: Dec 14th
General Membership meeting, Election of Officers and Christmas Party
